Time.
Friend or Foe?
I just finished “the Time Keeper” by Mitch Albom; it was a great and quick read. While not the point of the book, it reminds me again of how little time we have with our children. If you think that they’ll head out for college around 18, that means you have about 18 years. Sounds like a long time, right?
That’s only 936 weekends.
Or you could say that’s 18 summers.
My oldest is 9, which means I’m about halfway – it means I can count on only 8 more summers. Wow.
“the Time Keeper” tells the story of Dor, the first man to count time. His discovery leads us to where we are now – always wanting more, counting every second, stressing about how much time we have. We’re the only creature on Earth that worries about time.
So, the book has me thinking, is it a blessing or a curse?
Either way, the one thing I do know is that my time with my children is limited and I need to make the most of it.
